GETTING READY FOR YOUR COSMETIC TATTOO

Thank you for choosing Hoi Tattoo! We look forward to working with you to create the perfect cosmetic tattoo for your unique facial features. First, here’s a few tips on how to prepare for your new ink before visiting the studio.

Please review our COVID-19 protocols page thoroughly BEFORE visiting our studio.

Booking Your Appointment

Note that we often experience high appointment volumes and may close our books for periods of time. We appreciate your support and patience.

  • Please book your first appointment using our online Booking page for all brow and lip services.

  • For scalp-micropigmentation, please schedule your consultation using the online Booking page. During your consultation, we’ll determine the time needed for your full service. Your first appointment can be booked by emailing info@hoitattoo.com or by filling out our online Contact page.

  • Touch-up appointments can be scheduled by emailing info@hoitattoo.com.

  • To respect the time of our artists, a 50% non–refundable deposit is required to schedule and secure your appointment and is deducted from the total price. This deposit is to ensure that you are committed to undergoing a cosmetic tattoo. If you cancel or miss your appointment, you will forfeit your deposit. Please email info@hoitattoo.com or call 403-813-8083 if you need to reschedule or change your appointment time.

Pre-Appointment

Due to recent side effects experienced by clients who are in between COVID-19 vaccine doses, we ask that any new or returning clients ensure they have completed both doses BEFORE booking an appointment. Several clients who are in between doses have experienced excessive swelling and symptoms similar to an allergic reaction. If you are scheduled for an appointment but are awaiting a second dose please contact us immediately to reschedule. Clients must wait a minimum of two weeks after their final dose.

For best results, we recommend the following:

  • Do not consume alcohol, caffeine or blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen, Niacin, fish/primrose oil) 48 hours before your procedure to avoid excess bleeding.

Avoid the following facial procedures 3 to 4 weeks before:

  • Botox and fillers

  • Chemical peels (Glycolic, Pumpkin, Alpha Hydroxy, Salicylic Acid)

  • Laser Facials, both ablative and non-ablative, including Fraxel, Co2, and IPL laser treatments

  • Exfoliation and retinol product.

  • Complete the following cosmetic procedures prior to your brow tattoo:

o   Brow waxing/shaping (2 days in advance)

o   Brow tinting (1 week in advance)

Avoid sun/ tanning bed exposure for 30 days BEFORE and AFTER your procedure. As your skin exfoliates from a tan or sunburn, it will take the tattoo pigment with it. If you arrive with signs of sun exposure, we will unfortunately have to reschedule your appointment and you will forfeit your deposit.

Appointment Day

On your appointment day, we ask that you come prepared to be as relaxed as possible for the duration of your cosmetic tattoo.

  • Eat a light snack 20 to 30 minutes before arriving

  • Wear relaxed clothing that you can sit and lay down in for an extended period of time

Here’s what to expect from your experience upon arrival:

  • Consultation & Hoi Tattoo Signature Brow Design: (30 min) This is the opportunity to meet with your artist and create a plan for your tattoo. Please bring photos of tattoo examples that are similar to the look you’re hoping for. As artists, we will work with you to design your custom cosmetic tattoo to highlight your natural features. Our Hoi Tattoo Signature Brow Design includes not only the shape outline, but also each individually hand-drawn hair stroke. From there, we choose a pigment match based on your skin tone and hair color. We’ll also discuss care and healing during this time.

  • Numbing: (30 min) Prior to the procedure, a topical anesthetic (5% lidocaine ointment) is applied. We also layer an additional numbing agent during the tattooing to increase your comfort.

  • Tattooing: (Duration depends on service) Your tattoo artist will carefully implant pigment to mimic the appearance of natural hair, lip color or freckles within the designed shape.
