HOI TATTOO AFTERCARE
MAXIMIZE THE RESULTS OF YOUR COSMETIC TATTOO
Achieving the best and longest-lasting results from your cosmetic tattoo depends on proper aftercare, your skin type, and lifestyle factors such as sun exposure. Everyone’s healing process and pigment retention are unique, so follow these aftercare steps to protect and enjoy your new tattoo.
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER YOUR COSMETIC TATTOO
Right after your cosmetic tattoo, expect minor discomfort like a mild sunburn, with some redness and swelling that usually subsides within 24-48 hours. The tattooed area will appear darker and more defined during the first week, gradually softening as it heals.
IMPORTANT HEALING TIPS
Minimal scabbing or flaking is normal. Avoid scratching or peeling to prevent pigment loss.
Touch-ups or adjustments can be scheduled once the full healing period has completed.
AVOID THESE DURING THE HEALING PROCESS
To ensure optimal results, avoid the following:
Makeup on the tattooed area for 2 weeks
Direct water exposure and cleansers (except for lip blush) for the first 10 days
Petroleum-based products like Vaseline or Neosporin
Sweating activities for 10 days
Swimming pools, hot tubs, and bodies of water for 14 days
Sun exposure and tanning beds (use SPF 30+ after healing)
Laser light therapy on the treated area, as it may alter pigment color
Exfoliating products, retinol, and AHAs on the area for 30 days
Massages, facials, or intense skin treatments on the tattooed area
CARING FOR YOUR NEW COSMETIC TATTOO
BROWS (Nano, Combo, and Microblading – Healing Time: 6-8 Weeks)
Brows usually require two sessions: one to shape and define, and a follow-up to enhance density. Nano brows often heal faster than combo or microblading.
Day 1: We provide an aftercare kit with distilled water wipes and ointment. Gently clean brows with wipes every 2-3 hours. Start applying the ointment on day 2.
Days 2-14: Pat brows with a damp cotton pad 2-3 times daily and apply a thin layer of ointment in the morning and evening. Avoid over-application to preserve pigment retention.
POST-HEALING:
Brow tattoos generally last 1-2.5 years depending on skin type and care. Yearly touch-ups are recommended.
Avoid laser treatments (like IPL) on brows to prevent color change.
If desired, additional eyebrow makeup can be applied to enhance your look.
LIP BLUSH (Healing Time: 7-10 Days)
Lip tattoo color appears bold at first, softening by 40-60% as it heals.
Days 1-5: Expect some swelling, flaking, and possible bruising. Use a cold compress for 15 minutes to reduce swelling.
Days 4-7: Lips will begin to scab—avoid picking and spicy foods that may irritate.
Days 7-10: Use the provided aftercare balm to keep lips moisturized.
POST-HEALING:
Lip blush tattoos typically last 1-3 years.
Use SPF lip balm to protect and extend color longevity.
SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION (Healing Time: 6-8 Weeks)
Scalp micropigmentation offers a realistic, shaved look that blends seamlessly with natural hair.
Days 1-7: Avoid water, shampoo, lotions, or any scalp products. Use a shower cap to keep the scalp dry.
Days 1-10: Refrain from shaving the scalp and avoid disturbing scabs.
Avoid prolonged use of helmets or hats during the healing period.
POST-HEALING:
Scalp pigmentation gradually fades, and periodic touch-ups are recommended.
For men with remaining hair, shave every 2-3 days for a consistent appearance.
Always rinse and thoroughly dry the scalp after chlorine exposure.
By following these aftercare guidelines, you can ensure vibrant, long-lasting results from your Hoi Tattoo experience!
